2011 Call for Presenters Now Open!
Presenters are expected to utilize People-First Language during presentations and in their submitted proposals. We are a cross-disability conference and presenters selected will have demonstrated that they are prepared for a diverse audience which could include individuals experiencing physical, sensory, developmental, mental health, or intellectual disability, in addition to family members, and professionals from a variety of fields.
Accessibility Considerations – Presenters, be sure to submit your handout and presentation material text in electronic format by September 19, so that appropriate alternate formats can be prepared for participants. Submit to presenters@arcoregon.org.
Please also consider the elements in your presentation and how they will be experienced by people with various disabilities. For example, if you have visual-only elements such as graphics, photos or electronic media without dialogue/narrative, you will need to provide verbal description for audience members with low vision.
